Arab Foreign Ministers gave their support Wednesday to the Russia and us plans for a peace conference of the Syria even though organizers said that it would now not take place before next month.
The Ministers, meeting at the headquarters of the Arab League in Cairo, called the warring parties in Syria to negotiate an end to the civil war of 26 months, saying a political solution was the only option.
They called for "efforts to persuade the warring parties to allow the logic of dialogue and negotiations to prevail in order to find a political solution among Syrians, as the only way."
Russia, the United Nations and we sent failed Wednesday to set a date for the conference planned in the middle of persistent disagreement over who should participate.
'It will be impossible to hold this conference in June,' peace envoy of the United Nations Lakhdar Brahimi of Syria, adding that the talks could happen "if all goes well in July." told reporters in Geneva,
Damascus has agreed in principle to participate in the Conference, but the main opposition party of Syria, as National Coalition refused to attend both the Iran-backed fighters of the Lebanese Hezbollah movement are fighting alongside the forces of Assad.
